Many people know about (and use) dating websites and apps in the style of “Tinder.” But did you know that there are similar platforms created specifically for pet owners?

Dog owners know that it is often easier to strike up a conversation with someone else walking a dog than to approach a complete stranger without a four-legged companion. Based on this observation, and inspired by dating platforms for singles such as Tinder, dating sites for pet owners have emerged in Belgium and neighboring countries.
One of the best-known examples is**Tindog** : The app (available on Android) allows pet owners to meet, become friends (both the owners and their pets), take walks together and, who knows, perhaps even go further.
It brings together people who share at least one common passion and who all place great importance on their pets. As a result, a potentially significant source of disagreement in a budding relationship can more easily be avoided.
Interestingly, 70% of registered users are women. They join both to make new friends and to meet men. Men, however, seem to sign up mainly in the hope of meeting women.

But that is not all. Many pet owners feel that their pets need friends and companions. They therefore look for other owners who feel the same way and want to organize meetups... for their pets.
