Returning home after being hospitalised due to an illness or an accident is always a very delicate time. Both for the person going through rehabilitation and for those living under the same roof, the problem often arises of coping with a temporary loss of independence, the effort needed to adapt, and the reorganisation of the household's daily life.
While many home-help services are already used in normal times, when there's no health issue to deal with, these services often become essential when someone is in a state of dependency, isolation or rehabilitation.
Medical advice given by a professional
Drawing on its experience in medical assistance, Redion has created a new assistance package giving customers access to medical advice.
The beneficiary can call us at any time in the event of illness, if they need medical care, if they have been hospitalised, or if they simply want advice about a condition or state of health. A doctor or qualified nurse gives personalised advice by phone, in the form of first-line medical information on illness-related conditions, treatments and precautions to take. If necessary, a medical team monitors the caller's symptoms for 21 consecutive days.

The MediCall assistance package also brings together the most essential home-help services to support those who need temporary help with certain household tasks or chores.

These trades are among the most sought-after in the field of home help and personal support services. A Redion Care Manager — someone who takes charge of organising and following up on the help you need — will get you the following services:
Medical transport: If the MediCall beneficiary needs to be hospitalised or visit a specialist, we arrange their medical transport. If they need personal items brought to the hospital, we can deliver them or arrange a visit from a family member or loved one.
Meal or grocery delivery: We inform anyone unable to leave home about local suppliers from whom they can order items such as food and/or toiletries, and we reimburse the delivery costs. If needed, we arrange for hot meals to be delivered.
Household help: MediCall provides household help for cleaning or other domestic tasks such as laundry and ironing, or meal preparation. Everything is arranged through the service voucher (titres-services) system. We can also arrange specific services such as booking an appointment with a hairdresser, a physiotherapist, or a pedicurist at home.
Delivery of medical equipment and/or medication: We take care of arranging the delivery of prescribed medication or medical equipment if no one around the patient is able to do so.
Help with your internet connection: For someone in a state of dependency, being able to communicate with the outside world is essential. If there's a connection problem, an IT or telecoms specialist will come to your home to set up, repair and/or restore the connection on your computer, tablet or phone.
Pet care: A pet is often a very important source of emotional and psychological support for someone who is isolated. But that person may need to be hospitalised and require a service to temporarily look after their pet. MediCall arranges transport for the dog or cat to a family member or a pet boarding facility near you.
Psychological support: A hospital stay or illness can take a toll on your mental wellbeing or morale. MediCall arranges and covers psychological support.
Handyman services or small home jobs: A leaking tap, a piece of furniture to move, or a tree that's fallen in your garden… Sometimes small jobs or emergency repairs can't wait. If you can't find anyone to help you during your illness or convalescence, MediCall will quickly provide you with the assistance of a network of qualified service providers.
