Three young cyclists in a park

At a glance

Redion's "Bike" assistance covers all trips by bicycle, speed pedelec or other light means of transport.

More and more cyclists on our roads

Many people got on their bikes during the coronavirus crisis for short trips, and have since wanted to use this means of transport more in their everyday lives.
The public's enthusiasm for soft mobility has been confirmed by growing sales of bicycles of all kinds. This (r)evolution towards this type of transport is also being driven by the steadily growing number of cycling lanes appearing on our roads, and by the authorities' wish to discourage drivers from using cars in the city.

Assistance for bicycles and light mobility devices

To encourage road users to use their bikes and support those taking the plunge, Redion Belgium has launched "Bike" assistance.
This assistance covers all trips by bicycle (including electric bikes), speed pedelec or other light means of transport such as hoverboards, segways or electric scooters in Belgium and neighbouring countries (France, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands).

This assistance covers, among other things:

  • breakdown assistance and transport of the immobilised vehicle to the policyholder's home, their destination or a repairer

  • taking care of stranded people

  • a replacement bike or a mobility budget in case of immobilisation

  • covering medical expenses abroad, repatriation and return home of the insured

  • emergency return in case of hospitalisation of a close relative

  • a return home in case of inability to ride

  • legal advice assistance
