Discover the summer 2026 traffic forecasts on European roads and plan the best day for your journeys.
Here is the calendar of traffic forecasts for Belgium and the most popular countries during summer 2026
For almost three quarters of Belgians, summer means holidays. The vast majority of holidaymakers will stay in Europe and drive to their destination. So heavy traffic is expected on the roads in July and August, especially since holiday periods are slightly staggered between communities or countries. It's therefore important to choose your departure and return day carefully.
The table below gives a general indication of the traffic density expected on the roads to tourist destinations. Also follow the news and the "traffic info" websites of the various countries you'll be driving through to find out the situation at the time of your trip.
